'New Edition' Biopic Coming in 2017 To BET
The popular 80's group, 'New Edition' is having their story told in a 3-part mini series on BET.
'Candy Girl' the song that launched the group into limelight, was released in 1983 and they went on to produce many more hits, such as 'Cool It Now', 'Can You Stand The Rain' and 'You're Not My Kind of Girl' among others.
Bobby Brown left the group in 1986 to launch a very successful solo career but he teamed up with the group again to record an album in 1996.
Johnny Gill joined the group after Bobby left.
One of the biggest names to star in the movie is Bryshere Gray (Hakeem of 'Empire'). He will play the role of Michael Bivins.
Others are Elijah Kelley as Ricky Bell, Luke James (Singer Jessie J's ex) as Johnny Gill, Algee Smith as Ralph Tresvant, Straight Outta Compton’s Keith Powers as Ronnie DeVoe, and Woody McClain as Bobby Brown.
The movie will also feature child actors to portray the stars in their younger years.
We're definitely looking forward to this.
