'Hush' Season 1 Episode 23 Recap - Aired: Wednesday 4 May 2016



Babatunde Baker asks Oye and Arinola if Bem is the man they've been waiting for.
They confirm that he is the one so he says he wants to get some information about him.
He asks Bem for his  his name and occupation.
Bem ignores the questions and says he has his own conditions.
Oye says she knows and the lawyers are drafting the paper work but the most important thing is for the proposal to happen tonight so it can be in tomorrow’s papers.
Babatunde says if they do it, Bem will be contractually bound for the next 4 to 8 years.
Bem says Arinola hasn’t won the elections yet so how can Babatunde know if the contract will be valid after the elections.
Babatunde says he has never lost an election.
They banter some more and in the end, Bem agrees to propose to Arinola later in the day.


After Bem leaves, Babatunde asks Arinola how she knows Bem. She says he's an image maker.
He says she makes him sound like a hairdresser.
She now asks him if he has heard of’ House of Tsenugo’.
Babatunde is familiar with the fashion house.
Oye comes in and says the venue is set so she and the proposal will take place in the evening.
Arinola wants to know all the details but Oye says it will be a secret so she can be genuinely surprised. Babatunde agrees that it has to look as real as possible.


Bem calls Tes into his office and tells him that he is getting married.
Tes is surprised.
Bem says it's an arranged marriage.
Tes is confused so Bem says it's a political and business decision.
He wants Tes to get Adze and inform him then they will also be briefed by a member of the political party. He urges Tes to play along.
Tes asks if he should tell his mum. Bem says no; she will find out the same time the news is made public.


Oye come to see Coco at work.  She tells her Bem and Arinola are getting married. Coco is shocked.
Oye enters Bems office and hands him the itinerary for the night.
She gives him the ring also and he says it’s a bit over the top.
She tells him to be on time so the news can make tomorrow's  papers.
She asks if his sons are on board.
He says they've been briefed but getting them to come on board is her job. She needs to buy their silence.


Tes tells Adze about their father’s upcoming wedding and Adze is shocked.  He says he didn’t even know their dad was in a relationship. He goes on and on till Tes tells him it is an arranged marriage..
Adze says he will go and talk to him.

He goes into Bem’s office and says he wants to congratulate him and also talk about something serious.
Bem tells him to be quick.
Adze brings out his laptop and shows Bem the screen but Bem is impatient. He tells Adze to just summarise whatever i on the laptop because he has to dash somewhere.
Adze says he created an app and it has become an overnight success.
Bem asks if people are paying for it.
Adze says people don't pay for Facebook or Twitter but look at what they’ve become today.
He needs some cash to inject into it.
He begs Bem to introduce him to some potential investors like some of the guys in his gentleman's club.
Bem says Adze’s level of maturity will not allow him risk his compromising his integrity amongst his friends.
Adze looks disappointed.
Bem tells him that if he can keep the whole marriage thing a secret then he will consider it.


Coco introduces Tes to Oye. He flirts as usual.
Adze joins them.
She briefs them a little and says they will be compensated.


Ntse comes into Arinola office and asks if she likes the present.
Arinola asks why she went to the press and Ntse says Arinola doesn't know how she feels to have just discovered that her father has another child.
Arinola asks if Ntse is not tired of the whole wahala between them
Ntse hands her an envelope and says it is a quit notice.
Arinola is shocked.
Ntse says that according to the will, the house belongs to her and she wants Arinola out.


Later, Arinola shows the notice to Oye.
Oye reads the it and after her initial surprise, she asks Arinola if the beef Ntse has for her is not deeper than she thinks.
She tells Arinola that they will deal with the issue tomorrow but now she needs to get ready for the proposal.
Arinola gets up and wants to start making her way out but Ntse tells her what she is wearing won’t do, she gives her an a dress specially made for the occasion by ‘House of Tsenugo’.


Bem is having a meeting with his club members.
He tells them his vision for the club under his reign then he says the first order of business  is to select his second tier.
Folahan tries to speak but Bem shuts him up and says the man for the job is the longest serving member of the club and that is Benson.


Babtunde and Oye are waiting at the restaurant for Bem and Arinola.


Folahan walks up to Bem and says he cannot promote the warden.
Bem says, as head servant, he can do so and it has been done twice in the past.
He says a warden in the past even became head servant. He tells Folahan to go and read the rule book of the club.


Oye is frantically calling both Bem and Arinola and neither seem to be answering.
Babtunde gives up and says they should leave because it seems the proposal isn’t going to happen.
Arinola walks into the restaurant and a live orchestra starts to play a soft and romantic tune.
She turns in surprise and sees bem walking towards her.
He stops in front of her and gets on his knees to propose. She accepts of course.
He gets up and gives her a kiss that lingers a little bit.
Arinola look like the kiss had an effect on her.
The paparazzi cameras are going off.
