Nahar tells Saloni that they should celebrate her birthday earlier this year, so they can see Neel and Nishi sooner.
Saloni says her birthday is still some months away so they will talk about it later.
She says she is getting late for the ceremony, so she takes Shweta and goes downstairs.
Nahar takes out a recorder and begins to record a message.
Babho calls him to come and join the family for the ceremony.
He quickly hides the recorder and wipes his tears.
The family gathers in the family temple. Varum is present.
Babho tells Brajesh and Nahar to adorn their wives with the vermillion.
Saloni says she forgot to bring the vermillion.
She goes back into the house to get it.
She opens the drawer to get out the vermillion and sees the tape recorder.
She picks it and plays it. It's a birthday song Nahar recorded for her.
She listens again and hears Nahar say death would have pulled them apart on her birthday. He apologises for not letting her know about his illness.
Saloni is shocked and frozen to the spot as she listens to the message.
She drops the vermillion and sits on the bed as she listens to his message.
She begins to remember when he told her about his savings and shares.
Savitri comes to get her.
She sees the vermillion on the floor and says it is a bad omen.
She begins to clean the mess.
Saloni doesn't say a word. She walks to replace the recorder back in the drawer and takes another pack of vermillion, then she walks out of the room.
As she is going downstairs, she thinks about what she heard. She says it's impossible and her later life will be lost without Nahar.
She gets back to the others and tells Nahar that she wants to speak with him.
Tara says they can talk to later; she wants them to complete the prayers and eat.
They complete the rituals and prayer.
Saloni repeats her request after the prayers and Babho says they should talk after eating.
They enter the house and she tries to talk to him again but he tells her to join the others so he can finish up with Varum.
Nahar takes Varum to his room and gives him the recorder to keep. He instructs him to give it to Saloni on her birthday.
The family is asking for Nahar. Mano decides to go and look for him.
She sees him with Varum and hears him tell Varum not to tell Saloni.
Everyone is worried about Saloni because she looks upset.
She gets up and goes to the room.
Nahar is still begging Varum not to say anything even as Varum begs him to tell the family.
As Varum leaves the room, he sees Saloni and she says she wants to speak with him.
She takes him aside and he denies anything is wrong with Nahar at first but she tells him that she has heard the tape so he admits it.
Saloni finally breaks down in tears.
She says Nahar is keeping such a serious issue from her, they promised to share their happiness and pains.
She asks Varum why he didn't tell her, he should know Nahar will need his family at such a time.
Varum says he was helpless as Nahar made him promise not to say anything.
Saloni says she knows Nahar wants to save everyone from the pain.
Varum tells her to try and control her emotions because if Nahar sees her, he will also be heartbroken.
He informs her that soon Nahar will have paralysis and she will need to take care of him.
Saloni is crying outside the house. She screams as the magnitude of the situation hits her. She keeps screaming and asking why the goddess saved Nahar only for this to happen.
She asks how she will leave without Nahar.
She gets up and wipes her tears saying if Nahar doesn't want to see her tears, then she won't let him see them and she won't allow Nahar lose.
Nahar comes downstairs and Babho asks for Saloni.
He says he hadn't seen her.
Babho says they're worried about her because she looked sad.
Saloni comes back in and Tara asks if she isn't hungry.
Saloni looks at Nahar and smiles.
She starts to eat and the others join her.
At night, she is sitting on the bed, carrying her baby.
Nahar comes in and asks why she hasn't changed.
She says she doesn't want to change out of her dress; she wants to remain like his bride. He tells her something is missing and asks her to close her eyes.
He brings a big and expensive necklace and puts it on her neck.
She says the necklace is the one he got for Shweta.
Nahar says when Shweta gets married, Saloni should put it on her neck.
Nahar asks why she wanted to talk to him about.
She quickly comes up with a cover up. She says she wants to know if Varum is a real or fake doctor because he is always joking around. She tells him a joke and they laugh.
Brajesh comes the next morning and says Nahar should come jogging with him again.
Nahar says he doesn't want to go but Brajesh insists.
Saloni tells Brajesh to let Nahar stay home so he can help her sort out their wardrobe.
Brajesh reluctantly agrees.
Nahar starts to feel funny and his hands start to shake.
Dheer offers him juice but he's unable to move his hand.
Saloni is watching, she tries to help him.
Nahar calls Varum and tells him he couldn't move his hand for some time.
Varum tells him that he needs to be admitted to the hospital immediately.
Nahar says he will get back to him.
Mano comes to see Nahar at work and asks him what he is hiding from Saloni.
She says he didn't go out of town the other day and there is no snack shop like she made him believe.
She says if Saloni is sad, then she will forget all relations to him.
She asks if he's cheating on Saloni because a husband hides something from his wife when he's up to no good.
Nahar cries and says he's not cheating on Saloni.
He tells her he has only two months left to live.
Aunt Mano is stunned.
She breaks down and says it can't be true.
Nahar says he is faced with the bitter truth every morning.
Mano says Nahar shouldn't do this to Saloni; he shouldn't break his bond with his shadow.
She says she won't allow him lose courage. She begs him to go and get himself cured even if he has to go abroad.
He tells her that nothing can be done because the disease is incurable.
They cry together.
Nahar begs her not to tell Saloni or anyone else.
Mano says she won't tell.
